Many people’s recently had an experience that broadened my knowledge and experience with strategic thinking. Have been able to attend a course at the university where they participate in organizational behavior. In this class, the teacher conducted an exercise in which he took a group of students and assign them to a committee of the award. I was part of the student group that represented the first year entrants were considered for this scholarship. The purpose of this exercise was to use strategic thinking to decide which would receive the first year of awards and price accordingly.

These candidates all have different strengths that progress and standards of the university. For example, my candidate was a high school, which would not be able to go to college without a scholarship. Music was her passion and she should receive a scholarship to the university, which should contribute to the program of the School of Music. Another hope was an athlete would be a boon for the basketball team at school. A third candidate is a student who thrive in the academy. Also, my reasoning on why my candidate was entitled to receive the scholarship was one of the competing arguments from classmates who wanted the same for their candidates.

We had some options to consider:
“These are some candidates need funding than others?
“Do some candidates deserve more funding than others?
“We need to properly distribute the scholarship fund, so that everyone benefits?
“We must give all the scholarship money for the best rounded candidate who would have the greatest impact on the reputation of the school?

After listening to each representative, and findings on the needs of their candidates, a few companions interrupted the debate because they believe their students do not need much. A classmate said that his student was from a family financially stable and that the lack of funds does not cause him not to go to college. Another classmate in his pupil should be available for work and would be a good thing, even without the money from the stock market. With strategic thinking among members of the committee, we were able to inspect all want to curry favor with the situation. The final consensus committee has left two students without the scholarship money, but he helped with the three recipients of the money for scholarships, according to their needs and achievements.

This process of strategic thinking to lead a group effort of brainstorming ideas, initiating change, and find solutions. We were able to evaluate effectively the highest priority of our candidates and make better informed decisions.
